moodboard-3-11-15 // stuff that's inspiring me this week via Opinion9.com

I’ll be sharing a moodboard each week – my inspiration changes every week because the vast world of the internet has so many amazing things to share- ranging from art, beauty, interior design, food, intriguing stuff etc etc etc.

Clockwise from the top left:

1– watercolour and hair sketches! my fave.

2– i’m all about watercolour currently, and wow, when I discovered this amazing shop filled with wall hangings like this..makes me happy.

3– still feeling that fall feeling, so these copper painted leaves are nice and cozy

4– coffee, chocolate and a book. I mean, what else do you need? A pretty perfect shot, I’d say.

5– I’m trying to clean my room and studio space, so this image of a nice workspace is slightly motivating.

6– I don’t know why, but I really want some ice cream cake. Mint + ice cream cake = winner in my book.

Hope you liked this week’s inspo. Got plenty of nice stuff to share for moodboards, so stay tuned. See the previous mood boards here. – Aaria

Mood of the Month / October

Hello! You may have seen my September moodboard. Today, I’ve got not one, but two moodboards filled some glittery and vibrant October inspiration. It’s basically stuff that’s inspiring me at the moment.

October is such a fun month- you can feel change in the air. A lot of people associate October with a familiar comfort, even to some predictable boredom. I don’t.

October for me has always been bright, and not just about oranges, reds, leaves and pumpkins and other fall stuff. It’s so much more than just that- even though all that is lovely too. October has this unique feel to it- and here are my two moodboards that slightly capture October!

Hope you like it.

Mood of the month / October – Moodboard 1MOODBOARD oct 1

1- this breezy print makes me think of seaside trips, fading leaves and spring all at the same time.

2-awww to this.

3-this disco ball on the ice cream > cherry on top of cake/ice cream

4- these clean lines make me want to pick up the pen and doodle all over the page

5- this rad highlighter works in three ways- perfect for someone who likes variation without carrying too many highlighters/markers

6- sweet botanical paper clips. want.

7-oh yes to sans any font.

8-and this party is retro-cum-spring-summer-fall mixed into one.

Mood of the month / October – Moodboard 2

2- brush stroke lettering all the way. add to an image = oh yeah.

3- let’s all us girls wear sneakers with patterned skirts

4- i love, love these cookies embossed with doilies, lace and other pretty cloth patterns

5- oh my goodness, this lovely flower arrangement screams sophisticated fall season for me. The maroon red and blush pink elements with just a sheer pop of green = love it

6- these orange peonies remind me of pumpkins. Lol..not to say they aren’t beautiful, they are 🙂

7- yes yes to these quirky hairclips.

8- a sea of lavender mixed with colourful hues is not really about fall, but more about what I feel about the vibrance of fall.

9-and finally, let’s all make stuff and think deeply about things that actually matter to us. filter out what’s unnecessary.

And we’re done! Cheers to a great colourful and amazing October! -Aaria

Mood this month // September

September Moodboard- faded colour tones with pops of florals makes for a September moodboard via Opinion9.comHello. Thought I’d share a little moodboard for September. Basically, as you can see, I’m pretty much inspired by bright florals, minimal faded tones in photography and adding lettering to the mix! September is such a funny month- not really autumn vibes yet. However, it seems like a good month for inspiration.

I’ve recently started experimenting with lettering properly- and not just doodling on scraps of paper and then discarding them, like before. Lettering is so much fun. I really like the idea of integrating it with photos too- it’s such a cool effect. I’m working on my lettering over at surely simple on instagram, maybe take a look, if you like.

As for the flowery elements on this pretty simple moodboard- well, I’m kinda obsessed with flowers and the beauty they possess. I especially like delicate green leafy patterns and the bright pops of colour in vibrant flowers, peonies, roses and hibiscus. Reds and pinks just never get old. Nowadays, I also like oranges and yellows, but the warmth of a red is just too distinct and alluring to see.

Minimal photography is so much fun to try while snapping photos, and just to admire when you notice it somewhere. There’s subtlety and yet s much clarity in just framing one object on a background- and I love that intrigue you get when you just look at a minimal image. It looks like an open book at first, but when you look closer, there’s so much more to it. It’s seriously cool.

I’m also drawing florals again- and you’re going to be seeing some sketchbook shots soon enough!

So, this was a little glimpse of what’s inspiring me in September. What’s inspiring you this month? I’d love to know in the comments below!
